4 month check up
On July 7th Parker had his 4 month check up and shots. I dread this....I hate watching the kids get shots. We got there and the doctor saw us right away. Parker was 15lbs and 24in long...not to big, but not too small...just right the doctor said. He did pretty good with his shots. He only screamed for a little bit, then gave me a look that said..."mommy they hurt me"....it was so sad. Everything else checked out great. The doctor said he is doing good.
4th of July....
Guess I haven't been on here in a while since I'm just now writing about the 4th of July. Anyway...it was fun. On Friday...the 3rd...we went over to Julie's house for swimming and munchies. It was fun. Dallas showed up with her kido and Justin, Kelly showed up and some of Julies friends came too. The kids enjoyed swimming and playing on the trampoline.
Parker had started solid foods that week and was a little constipated. I was telling Julie about it and said that I hoped when he did finally go it was probably going to be huge. Just then I went to go put him in the pool to swim and he exploded...guess he knew what we were talking about. I had to throw him in the bath. After he got cleaned up he enjoyed the rest of the day swimming. It was a fun way to start out our 4th of July weekend...other then the massive poopie...
Saturday was the 4th and that afternoon we went over to Keith and Beverly's parents house. There the kids go to do more swimming and a barbecue. It was a good time and Parker got to swim with Landon and Kaitlin got to play with Aaron.
Charlie and Russ showed up around 5 or 6 and joined in the fun. Around 7 we all loaded up in our cars and headed over to Keith and Bev's house for fireworks. We set up the fireworks at the end of their street with all their neighbors. It took us a whole 15 minuted to set them all off. It was fast, but the kids liked them. Parker was amazed by them. He just kept watching and every time he saw the ones people were shooting in the air he would turn and watch with amazement. It was a lot of fun.
Before we headed home everyone went inside and played Rock Bank on the WII. Russ brought over the drums, guitars and microphone and everyone got a turn. It was fun, but I think next time we should leave out the mic...don't think anyone really did to great with that one. :)

Not such a good trip to the Lake
Two Sunday's ago we took our normal trip to the lake...but it didn't turn out so normal. The first thing we did was park at Sandy Beach so the kids could play and Parker could swim. That was fun. Parker loves the water and the kids love to find shells and swim right off the shore. We stayed there for a while then blew up the tube so we could go play.
I tired my hardest to get Kailtin up on the tube, but she wouldn't ride with me. When Susan asked her she said she would try it and she got on with her...hurt my feelings a little. I wish she would have gone with me. She screamed the whole time...even thought Russ was going extra slow...and wouldn't get back on for the rest of the day.
After Kaitlin got off Russ decided to go. His friend CJ was driving the boat, Kaitlin was sitting next to me, I was holding Parker in a seat and everyone else was sitting on the back. CJ tried so hard to whip Russ off the tube he wasn't thinking or paying attention and almost threw everyone out of the boat. I ended up on the floor with Parker (thank goodness he didn't get hurt), Kaitlin was just a little scared, and Susan almost flew off the top, but ended up bumping into Lila and hitting her head with her teeth. Everyone was screaming and crying and me and Russ were trying our best not to kill CJ. I told him he was never allowed to drive the boat again as long as the kids and myself were in it.
After that we decided to wake board....bad idea. We all took turns like normal. I did pretty good...Russ was impressed. I stayed up for so long I had to let go cause my arms were getting tired. Then Russ decided to go. He was doing pretty good...even doing a couple jumps. Then he took a bad fall and his foot came out of the bindings and his leg twisted. We knew it was bad when we turned around to get him and he said he was done and that he could feel that he hurt his knee. Turns out he was right...torn ACL....looks like our lake trips are done for the summer.
We headed in after that. Everyone's spirits were down and we just wanted to go home. What was supposed to be a fun day at the lake turned out to be a disaster.

No camera!!!
My camera broke and Best Buy said it will be 2-3 weeks before we know whats wrong with it. :( No more pictures in my blogs till then.
Done with Vegies...
Parker started solid foods a couple of weeks ago and has graduated from Vegetables to Fruit. He made it through the Vegetables no problem...wasn't to keen on the green beans, but ate them anyway. He ate everything I gave him, until last night. Last night we tried Bananas....and he didn't like them. He took one bite and made a funny face. The next bite he spit at me, then closed his mouth and wouldn't eat anymore. Would never have thought that he would like Vegetables more then bananas.
Tooth fairy...please accept this picture
Friday night Kaitlin lost her second tooth. It has been loose for a while and it was just hanging on by a thread so we knew it would come out sooner or later. When she woke up Saturday morning I noticed something looked different when she was talking. Her tooth was gone...YEAH....more money from the tooth fairy. When I told her she was surprised...she didn't even know it came out. So we were left with the question....Where is the tooth???
We went into her room and tore it apart trying to find it. Not in the sheets, not in her PJs, not under her bed or on the floor...where is it. The only conclusion we could come to was that she swallowed it....YUMMMM...guess she must have wanted a midnight snack.
She went to a sleepover Saturday night at her friends house so I told her when she came back on Sunday she could draw a picture of a tooth and leave that under her pillow for the tooth fairy. Sunday night before we went to bed she drew her picture. I was expecting her to draw a big tooth, but she showed it to me and it was so cute and creative that the "tooth fairy" had to return it to me so I could keep it forever. It was a picture of a girl with a tooth in her belly...so the tooth fairy would know exactly what happened to the tooth. I loved it. That night the tooth fairy came and gave her $2 for the picture of her tooth in her belly...then gave me the picture to put in a safe place.

Kaitlin rang the bell
Tuesday night at gymnastics Kaitlin got to "ring the bell." This happens when a gymnast accomplishes something that they consider a milestone. Kaitlin has been working so hard at her pullover. She has been doing sit ups and other stretches and exercises to help her abs so she can get herself over. Tuesday night she got it....she did 5 pullovers in a row. Great job Kaitlin!!! She should be so proud of herself...I know I'm proud of her.

Lake trip

Last Sunday we took the boat out to the lake for a fun full day of trying to escape from the Las Vegas heat. Conner came out with us so my parents could have a break and a night to themselves. The rest of the boys were in Utah at Football camp so Conner came to stay with us for the night.

We went wake boarding like always. I did okay the first couple of times, but had a couple of bad face plants at the end of the day that made my head feel like it was going to explode. Conner thought that since I could do it so could he and he gave it a shot. He almost got up, but his legs weren't strong enough and he kept crashing.
That's me like a pro :)
Conner giving it a shot

It was 7:30 by the time we were finally out of the water and loaded up in the car. Conner was exhausted since he said they usually only go to the lake for 2-3 hours and he missed his daily nap at 3pm. I guess he is 15 going on 50. On the way home we stopped at Cici's pizza so everyone could get dinner. It was a fun day and I'm really glad that Conner was able to come with us. I have not been as close to my brothers since I left home and it was nice to spend some time with him and not have to listen to the usual teenage attitude they give everyone.

Conner giving it a shotThe kids had fun to. Their wake board isn't here yet, but they had fun swimming and jumping off the boat. We parked down by sandy beach and they got to get out of the boat and find sea shells. Parker got to swim too and loved it. He was squishing the sand between his toes.
