Last night for chicks with balls

Last night was our last game of the season....
We got to have a pizza party and awards while we bowled our last game. Dallas, Yelena and myself all got awards...I got 2 (most improved score and highest womens scratch game). After our first game Yelena gave us all gifts that she made for us...they were so thoughful and creative. I love mine and will keep it forever...right next to my awards. :)
Since it was our last night we all decided to goof off and didn't care about our scores. We were all so crazy you would have thought there was a little something extra in our soda...(there really wasn't though). The last game I decided to bowl left handed and I got 2 strikes in a row. It was a fun night and I'm real glad Yelena started our bowling team.

abbra kadabbra

The funniest thing happened this morning at work. I was standing at Carol's desk talking with all the girls about bowling last night when I leaned over the counter and felt something funny in my shirt. I looked down and pulled Parker's pacifier out of my bra....not exactly what I would expect to be in there. Everyone was cracking up...couldn't believe I just pulled a pacifier out of my shirt. I guess Parker wanted to keep it in a safe place for later.

First day of day care

Yesterday was Parker's first day of day care. His aunt Susan has been watching him all summer, but since school stated she wants to go back to work full time. I'm not too nervous for him because I know they will take good care of him, but he is at him "mommy" stage and isn't too fond of strangers.
I went to drop Kaitlin off at school and then go to work bright and early so Parker got to stay home with daddy and play for a couple of hours. Russ dropped him off at daycare around 930am and said he was screaming as soon as he saw him walk out of the room. I'm so glad I wasn't there to see that because I wouldn't be able to leave him.
When I got off work I went and got Kaitlin then went straight to pick him up. He was swinging when we got there, but I could tell that he had been crying. They said he was fussy a lot of the day and he didn't eat much at all. He only drank 3 ounces the whole day, but he did eat a whole jar of sweet potatoes. He didn't sleep much either...only one 45min nap in the morning.
When we got home he was so hungry he just kept eating. He drank a bunch of milk then fell asleep around 7. He was exhausted. I hope his next day there goes better. I'm sure it will just take some time for him to get used to a new place and new people.

First day of First Grade

Monday was the first day of first grade. Kaitlin was so excited. She spent the night before getting her outfit ready, and was up at 6am getting in the bath and was probably ready before I was. I took the day off work to make sure she got there okay and got home and didn't want her to have to deal with safe key on her first day.
Well since it was her first day at her new school Kaitlin decided she wanted to walk. I was okay with this because it was only a mile away and I need the exercise. I put Parker in the stroller and put all Kaitlin's school supplies in the bottom and we were off. It was kind of fun walking, but Kailtin wore her new shoes and they kept falling off her feet. It took us a half hour to get there and we walked into the playground are less then one minute before the 10 minute warning bell rang. Kaitlin took her foot out of her shoe and noticed a big blister on her pinkie toe that popped...poor baby. Guess we wont be walking again. We got her in line for her class and met the teacher briefly before we had to walk to class. Luckily Parker fell asleep on the way there so he wasn't causing too much noise when we got to the class. I walked with her to her class so I could know where it is, and gave her a hug and kiss and let her start her first exciting day of school.
At 3:11 school was over. I dove to pick her up this time so we wouldn't have to walk again. I found her right away...she was in line with her class in the shade. Her teacher insured me that Tuesday when she starts safe key she will walk with her and make sure she gets there. That made me feel good. I was so nervous for her since the school is bigger then she is used to. Kaitlin said she had a great day. She made some friends already and had a great day. She even said she has a secret, but she won't tell me. I still can't get it out of her. She also told me that there were bars on the playground and she was excited because she got to show off her gymnastics moves at lunch. I'm so glad she had a great first day of school.

Around the world

Kaitlin had another riding lesson last Monday and decided to be a dare devil. The instructor was teaching her how to do "around the worlds" (that is when they turn themselves around in the saddle on the horse). Kaitlin did good and loved it. She liked it so much she asked the teacher if she could ride backwards. The teacher said okay...and lead her around the ring. Then Kaitlin asked if she could try to turn herself around while the horse was moving. What!!! that sounded dangerous to me...especially since that was only her second lesson. The teacher let her do it...and she did. She was able to turn herself around while moving and she didn't fall. She did great...but I almost had a heart attack watching. Kaitlin has no fear lately...I'm glad she is having fun though.

Leaving Las Vegas

Just as Kaitlin was getting back from visiting her dad I had to go to Seattle on a work trip. Kaitlin got back on Sunday and I was leaving on Tuesday night. I felt so bad for leaving so soon...I tried to figure out a way to take her with me. I looked into plane tickets and they weren't too bad...only $150 round trip....but the child care during the day while I was in the meeting was also $150. I tried to talk my boss into letting her sit in the back of the room, but that was a no go...so she had to spend the night at Grandpa's house. It would have been fun to have her with me so we could have some much needed Mommy and Kaitlin time, but she had a blast at her grandpa's house and with her uncle Conner.
I was so nervous about going on the trip because it was the first time I would spend the night away from my little man. He is only 6 months and leaving is hard to do. I made sure to leave him extra bottles and made sure everyone knew what time he usually eats dinner. He got to spend the night alone with daddy....and the whole day Wednesday...so I wasn't too worried.
Before I left I got to spend the whole day Monday with my two little monsters :). We went to Town Square so Kaitlin could play on the playground, but she decided she just wanted to shop for school stuff instead. We ate lunch in the grass area and Kaitlin got to run around and be her goofy self. We had a blast, but she said something that absolutely killed me. She sat down in the grass next to me and looked up at the sky and said "It's good to be home. It's good to be back in Las Vegas because I can be myself again." She said she just doesn't act like herself when she is at her dad's house and that killed me. I hate that she isn't comfortable enough to be herself there and I am going to have to work with her dad to fix that.
Back to the trip...it was short and fast. I left Tuesday night...didn't even get to Seattle till around 7pm. That night I went out to dinner and tried to catch up on sleep. I was missing my kidos so I couldn't sleep very well, but I brought a bear "Creamy" with me that Kaitlin had made for me in summer camp, and one of Parker's hats so I could have a little bit of them with me...so it made it better. The next day I went to the meeting and flew home. I was glad the trip wasn't longer because all I wanted to do was get back to my babies.
I took the rest of the week off to spend with them before school started. Kaitlin was going into 1st grade...such a big girl...and Parker was starting day care. They are growing up too fast.

Missed call....

I missed a call from Kaitlin last night. I felt so bad I tried calling her back for an hour, but she must not have had her phone. She comes home today so I'm real excited. I can't wait to see her...it's only been a week, but I miss her a lot.
